Why We Need to Pay Our Interns

All too often, interns who complain about not getting paid are not viewed as exploited labor, but rather as the stereotype of lazy millennials. This Catch-22 scenario leads to coexisting yet antithetical perceptions of college labor; privileged if they expect their parents to support them and ungrateful if they ask their employer to pay them. Op/Ed – Who Watches the Watchmen in Trump’s America?

It is unconscionable that simply because one party controls the House, Senate, and Executive they can flout basic rules about conflicts of interest, perjury, and obstruction of justice. Ethics monitoring should not be dependent on electoral politics.
